The Downside of Having Eyes

I see what you did there.
How you swapped chairs when I got up.
How you gouged through my monogram I left on the tree.

I see how you changed history.
How you hid the pictures away and forgot the names of the people.
How you washed the truth until it became lies.

I see what you did there.
You didn’t think I could use any chair.
Or rename myself over a hundred times.
You didn’t know pictures have no soul, no being.
And you couldn’t have imagined the truth calls to me.

It will always look for me.
It is life calling back to itself.
