The Middle of Everything

Look back to where you’ve been,
Dare your feet to step aft into spaces you went before.
You can’t travel that way.
Your feet are either wider, longer or missing altogether.

Come back to the place where the demons danced.
Where you could have slain in defense,
Born of true colors, a sword mightier than storm.
Earth tipped on her side and bore you to a desert.

Ride back on dark clouds.
You can’t travel that way.
Time softens edges, gives a hazy bend to history.
Your eyes may be clouded, stained, or missing all together.

I hear there’s a party in the village.
Endless celebrating, mindless joy.
Love with no boundaries, new beginnings on tap.
Bring your skin and bones, stay as long as you care.

There, no need for eyes and feet.
Your place setting will find you.
The music plays for you.
You won’t remember any of it, but it will remember you.
