Begin Anew

What karmic death comes by arrow in the night?
Sent by sands through Saturn’s rings.
Ancient in song, glorious in haze, fires lit by the strike.
What burns to embers from bones and steel?
From hair of children?
The greed of nations?
This morning’s rise, the mist upon hills.
The gaze of herds, the call to peace.

Begin anew, if a thousand times.
This passing will be our mention, in the skies, in the spirals-
Of daughters who wore red and sons who were kind.
