The reach to a lower shelf
where your bag of dignity is stored.
Carefully folded edges, bound by ribbons you collected along the way.
That you now need to consider the bend and stretch,
the compromise in what you see and what you know
for the luxury of peace and lack of struggle.

How much of your dignity would you spend today?
Not knowing that later it may all be on you and none granted from the world as it is.
